Great article by our own Dave Brussat — who, by the way, is housing the DNA’s newest and youngest member, his new son Billy Lazlo. Congrats to Dave and Victoria and their awesomely-named addition! Now read some more about how actually liveable and likeable it is to be living downtown.

Late Nite Chaos – A Resident’s POV

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Yours truly (Ms. Kim Snow) had the chance to tell my side of the late-nite chaos situation. I never want the residents to seem like difficult rabble-rousers who want a suburban layer of silence placed over our hood – that would be horrible. But we are open to ideas on how to keep the streets safe for everyone at night and if we can eliminate unnecessary noise (as opposed to everyday city noise) everyone wins. Take a read:

Pizza Queen Update

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Just last week there was a hearing in regards to granting a 24-hour license to a local downtown business, Pizza Queen. Now, the idea of Providence becoming a true late-night city combined with the possibilities of pizza until 4am make us weep with happiness. And as your DNA reps, we’re always looking for ways to make our neighborhood fun AND safe into the wee hours. But even though we’re making progress, we’re not there quite yet. Luckily, our friends at Pizza Queen considered the same situation and had a very smart compromise that we support. Read more about it here: http://newsblog.projo.com/2009/03/city-tentativel.html
